SUVs never win the South African Car of the Year contest – but, if ever there was a truly deserving winner, the immensely classy Sportage is the car. It has already won a SUV load full of design awards; this must be one of the prettiest SUVs on our roads. We especially like the rakish windscreen angle; it makes the vehicle looks as though it’s on the prowl. But it doesn’t just look good; the Sportage is also incredibly safe: it received five stars in its recent Euro NCAP crash test. An outstanding vehicle in all departments.
