New 993-generation Porsche 911 Speedster to be built
A California based company, Gunther Werks, has chosen to build a 993-generation Porsche 911 Speedster.
It is the last of the models to use an air-cooled engine. Gunther Werks has launched a one-of-a-kind Speedster interpretation, states, Motor1.
The model has no roof, with a cut down windshield (which can be removed if requested) with a fabric roof hiding in the boot area. Its interior boasts a Carbon fibre theme on the dashboard and seats.
Other modifications include broad fenders, a spoiler, a new redesigned, carbon fibre front bumper, aluminum mirrors and door handles, and lastly 3D-printed exhaust tips, according to Motor Authority.
The model will be powered by a 4.0-litre, six-cylinder engine that was rebuilt by Rothsport Racing delivering a total of 324 kW. Gunther Werks has not released the specifications in full detail.
This model is so powerful that it managed to complete a lap of a 3.6 km long race track in just 1 minute and 30.99 seconds with Randy Pobst behind the wheel.
Gunther Werks only plans to build 25 new Speedster models with its production scheduled to begin in 2022
